RADICAL SUCCESS AT SNETTERTON

Snetterton Radical Clubman Cup April 26th 08

The Radical SR4 that SMD rebuilt earlier in the year has had 3 promising tests and a good race result that bodes well for the rest of the season.
With 2 tests at Brands and 1 at Snetterton Simon White settled nicely into the SR4 prior to the first round of the Clubman Cup.
Race 1 saw Simon qualify 20th on a grid of 24 starters. A good start saw the SR4 finish 2nd in class and 10th overall.
Race 2, again starting from P 20 saw Simon up to 11th and setting fastest lap in the biduro class until driveshaft failure led to retirement.
Overall a great start to the season and the cars first trophy of the year.
The next round is on 14/15th June at Croft with a test at Brands on the 13th May.

The SMD built MGZR 190 of Paul Wallace had a good first outing at Donnington with 2 second places and a fastest lap.
Neil Taylors S-Type Jaguar had 2 class wins and left Snetterton leading his championship. Not so lucky at Brands suffering a first corner accident leaving the car unable to make the restart.

The Lotus Elise GT1 car has been finished and is awaiting collection.

Royston Careys super 1600 Clio kit car is out on May 18th with SMDs Tony Davis in the co-drivers seat. The event is at the Longcross test track near Chertsey and run by the Craven motor club.
